In many coporation employers install a software program that tracks workers' whereabouts through GPS technology on their company cell phones.Using software called SurfControl, the managers monitor them if they waste time in the website. In this two kinds of technology to let the employers konw well about the employees. And it is bring a plenty of good effcets on the coporation, because not every employees is working hard for their company and want to devote himself to the company. The monitoring will effect much on the employees who want to dawdle their lfe and just review the website , chatting with each other or pretend to be ill to have a day off. The monitoring also prevent the spy in the coporation. If the trade secrcts are known by other company , it will make a big impact. Even make the coporation failures.
It is a sword with two blades to monitorng employees. Although the employees konw they are monitoring, it is also bring many complains in their heatr, they cannot say anything to others. If they say somthing are konwing by the employers, the final way to them are faired. Which is not good for the company's envirnoment, employees feel unfree and everything is exposured under their employers' contorl. Also it is test the employers' self-control ability, if their employers using the imfoemation they got from the monitoring to discuss other people's gossip, it is dangerouse to the employees.
We need to protect the company's trade secret , but the employees' private is also important. The monitoring is just suitable in the work time , after working it should not do that . If the coporation do the monitoring in all days and anywhere, the company will not continue .We need to respect everyone's private.
I agree with you about the function of snooping bosses method to protect the company's trade secrets. Protecting the secrets on which the company bases its successful is important for everyone who works in the company, particularly to avoid the failure of itself.
回复删除Regarding the employers' self-control ability, nobody can control if the employers using the information they got from the monitoring to discuss other people's gossip. Hence it is necessary a relationship based on trust between employers and employees, so that workers can believe in the purpose to monitoring as a tool exclusively direct towards the benefits of the company.
I can see what you mean with protecting the companys secrets so that they can be as succesful as they want to without suffering from people who can leak their precious secrets.
回复删除I think that tha tracking of people through GPS system on their cellphones is just stupid. I don't want my employer to know where I am all the time. Maybe he can track me while I'm working to see that everybody, including me, does it's job but not on my private time.

It was nice reflection when reading. As it was compact and not sticking with a special case like GSM tracking but it covers overall means of surveillance good and bad in working environment.

The writer comments on employee's privatization but I think when we are working for some one, means job then we should concentrate what is beneficial for the employer and there is not private life in working environment.
